for those of youing the jfx, no delays there as well. just 11 minutes to travel southbound from the beltway to fayette street. megan over to you. baltimore county police and public schools right now say they have a new approach to safety and security on the he's of two gun incidents at baltimore county schools. sherrie johnson is live with more on the security plan. what have you learned. you were speaking early this morning with the school officials on the phone. >> reporter: that's exactly right. baltimore county public schools plan to meet with staff and top educators about the building safety and security plan in a mandatory meeting this morning. the plan is to try to make schools a lot safer. baltimore county's superintendent, he just started july 1st. and he said that he wants to build a larger safety net for security this comes after two major gun incidents at

baltimore county schools season the first day of class. in one incident, a teenage gunman shot another in the cafeteria in the high school. and on tuesday, and eighth grade student showed up with a handgun and he threatened his teacher and a class full of students. today's meeting will lay out a new approach to safety and security. and it will help the students understand their role in the new plan. it's a reminder to staff and students to be aware of your surroundings. if you see something, say something. and the district will share an updated reporting system for staff and students even an anonymous tip line. and they plan to talk about the role of a soon-to-be hired school safety and security director. later today, i'm told that the doctor will post a video on the county school's website talking a little more about the security plan. reporting live, sherrie johnson, "good morning maryland." police are investigating a

double shooting that happened in north baltimore. and linda so is live this morning. >> reporter: no suspect. and the motive remains unclear. but we know that two men were shot in the arm. it happened last night before 10:00 in the 6,000 block near north parkway. and the police said the men were shot in the arm. they were found in a car. but the police believe it did not happen in that location. they believe it happened somewhere else and they drove to that area. they were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. they're still searching for the gunman this morning. and the motive is unclear. we're looking at impacts of the ruling by maryland's highest court labeling pit- bulls are doing russ. a letter was -- dangerous.

a letter was sent out to the arms garden apartments in east baltimore t reads in part, if you have a pit-bull or cross breed pit-bull mix, you must get rid of the animal immediately. and one attorney said that resident has no problem of getting rid of the dog and that leaves him with no other choice but to go to court. >> they could not go out into the open market and get a home because they could not afford it. >> and the attorney that we just heard from said they have filed a lawsuit in federal court that the resident has the right to due process and is being violated and that his property is being unfairly taken from him. a status hearing will be held for a suspected white house shooter. his me is oscar hernandez.

a new mother has quite a story to tell. she delivered her babe on the bathroom floor. she took a trip not expecting that her daughter would come early. and she did she felt contractions. but they had to drive 30 minutes to find the nearest phones and luckily there were two surgical technician there's. >> we were out in the middle of nothing. there was nothing. there was that store. and they were there. there were no people there.
